Save the Future Movement

Aim

To build a national and international network of environmental NGOs and citizen movements focused on ocean protection to promote cooperative, and collaborative initiatives to build a unified movement.

To promote large-scale annual public initiatives including Earth Day, COOL and COOL Academy, International Coastal Clean-up Day, and Month of the Sea.

Accomplishments

– More than 600 organisations and entities involved;
– 26 large-scale public initiatives;
– 130,000 people engaged;
– Clean-ups in mainland Portugal, Azores, and Madeira:
- – 2,070 actions conducted;
- – 51,340 volunteers;
- – 1,693 km cleaned;
- – 319 tonnes of marine litter collected;
