THE OCEAN IS OUR LAND
From 15 to 24 April, we celebrated World Earth Day (22 April) with the initiative “THE OCEAN IS OUR LAND“.
For the fifth year running, Oceano Azul Foundation challenged organisations and entities from all over the country to organise activities about the ocean.
For 9 days, Portugal came together to celebrate the ocean with educational activities, games, workshops, talks, exhibitions, beach clean-ups, among many other creative ideas, with different target audiences and in different regions of the country, or even in virtual format.
+ 4,500 participants I + 100 organisations I + 125 activities I + 8.7 tonnes of marine litter collected
This initiative provides an experience of proximity to the ocean, because only those who know it protect it. The aim is to deepen blue literacy by raising awareness on the important role that the ocean plays for life on Earth.
